1. THE TERMS OF THE CONTRACT
The terms of the treatment contract are essential. They help you to know what to expect. They include the fees you pay, appointment protocols, and what you and Merle expect from each other.
2. CONFIDENTIALITY
All sessions will be conducted in confidence and details documented. There are certain exceptions to this, and Merle will explain this on your first visit.
Merle has regular clinical supervision as per AASW and SAS guidelines of practice and may take aspects of your case to supervision. Supervision is to ensure that the best possible evidence-based intervention is offered to you as a client. Your identity is not disclosed.
3. CANCELLATIONS
You are expected to give 48 hours notice of any cancellation by emailing connect@twooceans.com.au or phone. If the practice is not notified within the stipulated time, you are expected to pay a cancellation fee of $80. This cancellation fee is not covered or subsidised by Medicare. Merle will also do her best to give reasonable notice of any changes.
4. MAKING THE MOST OF EACH SESSION
Clients who get the most out of counselling usually use their session time to increase awareness, learn new skills, and be actively involved in getting what they want from the sessions. They are also the ones who are willing to try out new behaviours in between sessions and take time to reflect on the work. Sometimes it is helpful to write or draw after a session and bring this to your next session. If you have concerns or discomfort from a session at any time, you must tell Merle about this either when it is happening or at the next session.
5. FEES
Fees are payable on the day. Saturday and after hour sessions are payable at the time of the booking. Please contact connect@twooceans.com.au for current fees.
6. TERMINATION
When you feel ready to finish your counselling, it is important to bring this up with Merle so that together you can plan for satisfactorily ending your work. Therapeutic intervention may take several sessions to accomplish.
